I am
I am a builder
It’s true. I’ve been leading design teams for the last handful of years, and designing customer experiences for the past 15+, but that doesn’t really tell the whole story about who I am as a person, mentor, coach, or colleague.
I’m very big on efficiencies. I like to understand how systems work, how fast things can (or can’t) be changed, and who’s responsible for each facet. It’s how I identify how best to make an impact, who I’ll need to partner with and what sort of timeline we’ll be on. This systems level thinking is also a great way to network and collaborate—something I thrive on.
Collaboration comes in many forms, but creating space for everyone (in and out of design) to bring their ideas forward is how I like to work. I have a fairly technical past, and don’t shy away from hashing out details with my engineering partners. Whether I’m acting as a liaison between design, product, and tech, or just trying to understand if there’s anything my team or I can do to help. It works the other way as well—helping engineering to understand the timelines design needs to do our best work, and engage with our customers.
Standards Shine & Teams Align
Case Study: Enterprise Design Toolkit
Role: Director, UX Design
As Director over Horizontal Services for the company’s internal data platform, I brought a team together to deliver a collection of design and engineering artifacts, along with content standards to contribution teams—complete with documentation—so they had what they needed to build new features that maintained design and brand standards, and decreasing their time to market.

My journey with this platform started as the UI Designer, and would end as UX Director, responsible for the design team, supporting the site, and its design system.
Customers Win & Culture Shifts
Case Study: IA Redesign
Role: Director, UX Design
At Capital One, I assembled and directed two teams through an IA and navigation redesign for a data-focused platform called “The Exchange”. This multi-faceted project received praise from customers, improved engagement, and created a new way for stakeholders to interact with their product.
